How to manage
Time wisely? Tips and acronym “TIME” for learning the art of Time Management
Time Management is
the process of organizing and planning to divide your time between specific
activities.
We all want to make the
most of 24 hours in a day but only few succeed. Those who succeed are the
people who are doing something right while others do not know the technique. If
you are wondering how can I be more successful in managing time and learn the technique,
then read the below time management concepts until end.
Achieve
the maximum productivity in less time by following the acronym “TIME”

T- Task should be recorded
The simple way of planning
your time is by recording the task with a ‘TO
DO’ list for the day. The best time to prepare the TO
DO list is before start
of your work/scholastics i.e., early morning hours or before night.
Planning the activity
ahead will give you much idea on how you want to divide your time into
different activities.
This To do list should be
analyzed periodically and changes must be done according to the suitability and
success. Start with small tweaks in your schedule like waking up 10 min early,
planning ahead of schedule or offering a buffer time. This will give more
control over your time.

– Invest your time by setting priority
The time is the most
precious but perishable and limited commodity. We must invest our time judiciously.
How can we do that?
By setting up our
priority for the day. There are various way to set priority but the most
commonly and effective way is to use quadrant methodology. By dividing your
work into Important and Urgent, Important but not urgent, Urgent but not
important and not urgent and not important we can effectively use our time more
efficiently. We can also target work that is more important first. As per Brian
Tracy’s book ‘Eat
that Frog’, doing your most important and difficult task first will prevent
you from worrying all day and will give more control over your life. The tasks,
which are least important and not urgent, could be prioritized last.

Manage your attention toward the task which should be completed
The direction of your
focus will determine your destination. Let yourself move towards what is good,
valuable, strong and true. When you will focus on most important and valuable
task of the day, you will be blessed in abundance with time. Focus on one thing
and one thing only at a time.
To focus better you can
use various methodology like setting clear goal and deadlines. With deadline
for each task in mind and written it will be easy to focus and move towards your
goad.
By doing deep work with
one activity at a time you can be more productive compared to shallow work with
multi-tasking. Cark Newport in his book “Deep Work” has explained
in detailed the benefits and increased in productivity.
E
– Elimination of non-priority
Learn to say NO and learn to DELEGATE the work, which are non-priority for you. With above-mentioned
techniques, you can very well calculate your available time. Take up work,
which are of higher value. Say No to
multi-tasking and stick to one activity that is priority on your list.
Life is too short to
waste time in unproductive task or task of lesser value unless it is very
important for you, your family or for the society. If some tasks could be delegated
then please go ahead.
Block out the potential distraction to your work, which are wasters or energy drainers. In today’s digital world there are more distraction than before. Take it beeping notification in you mobile or urge to check the status of whatsapp or facebook story. All are potential distraction bringing down your attention span to minimum.
Take a break, sharpen
your saw, and unwind before sleep. Many people get lost in the details and
perfection rather than getting started with end goal in mind. It is important
to start first than keep waiting for the perfect sun. Keep your inspiration
full and motivation high.
Wish you all the best.
